Difference between JoSAA Mock allotment and seat allotment:
JoSAA Mock Allotment is done before actual seat allotment so that candidates can know their chances to get seat in their desired colleges. Mock allotment is done on the basis of candidate’s rank and preference so that candidate can modify their choices well before the time and get the desired college.
When 2 mock allotments are done, final seat allotment is done after round 6. Based on the choices given /modified and their rank final allotment of college is done.
Once candidate is ready with downloaded allotment letter he/she has to pay the acceptance fee. After paying the fee he/she has to go for document verification at reporting center.
If candidate is not satisfied with allotted seat, he/she has some options:-
Withdraw- Candidate already accepted the allotted seat ,he/she can withdraw the seat by reporting to the allotted institute before final 6th round of seat allotment.
Floating- Candidate wants to accept the seat but want seat in better college.
Freezing- Candidate accepted the seat and don’t want to go for further option.
Sliding- Candidate accepted seat but want better course in Same institute if available . Once candidate accepted the seat allotted he/she has to report to the given college for confirmation of admission by paying remaining fee.
JoSAA Counseling- Duel Reporting :
It’s for those candidates who have been allotted any seat in counseling and in floating option wanted seat in better college. If candidate now got a seat in better institute, candidate has to visit reporting center once again.
Special Round for Vacant Seats:
Special round is conducted by Central Seat Allotment Board (CSAB) to fill the vacant seat at NITs, IITs, IIEST and other GFTIs when all the JoSAA counseling round is finished.
